In episode 15, we recap a successful dove season opener. Dove season is the first hunting season to open and kicks off the fall. It has become a hunt that we look forward to every year and is definitely one of our favorites. This year was special because we hunted a new area with great friends and the hunt included a little bit of everything from preseason scouting on the Internet, scouting in person, and finding what turned out to be an epic spot. We are joined by Amy Tarasi and Zac Palomino to relive the hunt, discuss some recipes, and just how good our dove season opener was. We had a lot of fun with this one and we hope you do too!

In episode 14, we interview Lamar "So Salty" Lee. We met Lamar on an offshore fishing trip out of San Diego's Fisherman's Landing on the Condor Sportfishing boat. On the trip, Lamar was constantly getting hooked up and landing fish. Every time he got bit, he kept yelling... "SO SALTY"! His energy was contagious and was someone we needed to talk to.

We discuss Lamar's origins in fishing, the trips he's taken around the world chasing fish, and his commitment to staying salty! Lamar is one of those underground guys that lives and breathes everything we're all about here on the Free Range Tales.

In episode 13, we discuss the differences between public and private land hunting and share our experiences hunting both. Approximately 640 million acres, about 28% of all of the United States, is public land held in trust for the American people by the federal government for us to access and enjoy. We cover the pros and cons of both public and private land hunting, but the biggest takeaway for us was to get out there and enjoy the resources we have!

In episode 12, we discuss some of the lessons learned from spearfishing. Spearfishing is a pursuit filled with plenty of ups and downs. From losing gear, to missed fish, bringing home a great meal, and spending time with good friends... No matter what happens, one thing is for sure, there's always a story to tell.

In episode 11, we recap our spring. It has been a fishy few months for us! Adrian recaps an epic spearfishing trip down to Baja, we discuss some trout fishing in the eastern sierras and cover some Sportfishing trips we've done here locally in Southern California. We also discuss some fish recipes with all the goods we've been bringing home.

On episode 10, took the show on the road to visit with Captain Bly from Captain Bly Spearguns and Lineage Fishing and Spearfishing Charters. During this episode we discuss hunting, spearfishing and that it's not just about the harvest, but about the passion for the process. Captain Bly is a master craftsman, gun-builder, boat captain, hunter, and friend. Thank you again Captain Bly for your time and we hope you all enjoy!

In episode 9, we recap a trip spearfishing, kelp paddy hoppy last summer. Every spring and summer, as the waters off the coast of California warm, they come alive with game fish that move in from the south. We spent the day chasing Dorados and yellowtails and learning about these floating ecosystems and the game fish that hunt and forage around them. As always, we enjoy reliving the hunt and hope you do too!

In episode 8 we do part two of our interview with our friend, Brett Gattoni. In the previous episode, we focused on his origin story and after we finished recording, we kept talking and telling stories. We quickly realized we had barely scratched the surface of all the stories and adventures Brett has to share, so we had him back in the studio for round two. In this episode, Brett tells a story of close encounters out in the field and his experience guiding hunting trips on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai. We had a lot of fun with this one and hope you do too!

In episode 7 we interview Brett Gattoni about his experience learning to hunt, fish, and spearfish at a young age. I met Brett on a spearfishing trip down in Mexico, where I quickly realized that he had a knack for always being in the right place at the right time. Brett is a man of many talents and we enjoyed reliving some of his stories growing up learning to dive and hunt. We had a lot of fun with this one and we hope you do too!

In episode 6 Jason and Adrian recap a trip down to beautiful Bocas Del Toro, Panama where they went on an adventurous and memorable fishing trip with some local guides and hook into some yellowfin tuna action. As with most adventures, the journey is the best part of a trip and sometimes it's more about how you got there, more than it's about what you got there. We had a lot of fun with this episode and hope you do too!

in episode 5 we recap another day in the field chasing quails and cottontails. We also take a request from a listener to recap the gear we used on our recent Mule Deer hunt.
